The coordinate measuring instrument and the image measuring instrument are widely used with the most advanced measurement technology. Although both of them measure the product's size, angle and position and other geometric tolerances, these two measuring instruments have the essence.
The difference between the coordinate measuring instrument and the image measuring instrument is popularized below for everyone.
1. Different measurement methods: The three-coordinate measuring instrument uses the probe to contact the workpiece, and obtains the coordinates of the point by contact. The image measuring instrument measures the image obtained by the optical lens without contact, and only needs to use the camera function throughout the process to complete the measurement.
2. The measurement dimensions are different: the three-coordinate measuring instrument measures according to the three-dimensional coordinate value of the point taken. Each point in the space has a unique coordinate value, and the measurement accuracy is very high. The image measuring instrument obtains a two-dimensional image of the workpiece through optical imaging technology, and then performs precise measurement, which is measured on a two-dimensional plane.
3. Different types of workpieces to be measured: Although the measurement accuracy of the CMM is higher than that of the image measuring instrument, it is mainly measured by contacting the workpiece and cannot measure small, thin, soft and other types of workpieces well. Although the image measuring instrument can measure small, thin and soft workpieces in a non-contact form, it is not enough for some workpieces that require three-dimensional measurement or high measurement accuracy.
